I completely restructured the Society to separate its professional leadership and regulatory roles and realign 320 staff, with a £50m budget. I was then COO of Universities UK, representing university Vice-Chancellors and overseeing the Medical, Dental, Pharmacy and Nursing/Midwifery Schools Councils. I am now a NED of the Association of Optometrists and EuroStrategy Consultants, and a consultant to various health and higher education bodies.
