I possess extensive experience as a chief executive and chair of a Board of sizeable, complex organisations. Whilst in leadership terms this has been confined to the public sector, success has relied on forging strong, mutually beneficial relationships wiith both private and public sector partners.
Invariably this has also called for strengthening strategic alignment and the relationship between strategy and delivery; enhancing governance, assurance and risk arrangements; workforce and stakeholder engagement, reputation management, and financial and other resource optimisation.
I have worked in different governance settings and with a range of regulatory bodies.
I have led in crisis and in highly demanding, dynamic scenarios and lectured others on how best to do so.
I have also had a great deal of exposure to designing and delivering executive selection processes and coaching, mentoring and supporting peers.

September 2018 - February 2023
Chair of the second largest health organisation in the UK and third in Europe with a workforce more than 20.000 employees and a budget of over £2bn I significantly enhanced the governance and assurance arrangements in place to bring patient safety, organisational effectiveness and delivery, and financial prudence into stark relief.
I was accountable at community, regional and national level and within the most highly charged political environment in Wales which required continuous engagement with the main political parties across the region, six local authorities and other key stakeholders and partners. I was influential at a national level, including in terms of wider health improvement activity, and chaired key fora in this regard.
