Head of Office for Member of Parliament for West Lancashire
As Head of Office role was to advise the Member of Parliament on a wide range of political, policy, media and community issues. Managing key relationships on behalf of the MP with community, media, government departments, public sector agencies and private sector organisations at a board and chief executive level.
Led on communications activity from public relations producing around 150 releases and statements per year, media management with press and broadcast journalists, producing media briefings and dealing with media requests and logistics, alongside planning and producing targeted communications by audience, issue and geography.
The role also included campaign issues management from campaign identification, planning and successful execution on constituency and national issues requiring media coverage, building community support and raising the political profile of the issue to secure a positive outcome. I have also delivered on events management from planning through to delivery of Prime Ministerial and Cabinet Minister visits, policy forums, community listening panels.
Overall office management responsible for maintaining standards and expectations, implementing processes and systems to manage heavy workloads, staff and budget management for effective performance.
