About Devarajen Yoven

Yoven has a diversified background having spent more than 15 years in Investment Banking, Energy trading and the Utilities sector. He began his career as an intern in Gaselys (ex-JV between Société Générale and Gaz de France) in 2003, after which he spent 3 years in the company as a Market Economist and Originator. In 2006, he moved into Investment Banking at Macquarie Bank in London to develop the bank’s energy markets division. He led the Origination and Sales team for EMEA for all energy related commodities and was a Senior Managing Director. In 2012, he moved to Deutsche Bank, where he was responsible for the management of the Gas, Power and Coal Origination and Trading activities in Europe. Yoven joined ENGIE in May 2013 in the role of Global Head of Coal, Freight and Biomass within Energy Management and Trading, being responsible for the development and optimization of the Group’s Coal and Biomass merchant activities and the Bulk shipping, trading and operations department. As head of the International Division, he was instrumental in positioning the Group as a leader in the global biomass market. He was also instrumental in shaping the commodity trading, business development and origination position of the group in the US, Asia Pacific and Turkey. Yoven graduated at the Ecole Polytechnique Executive Master in Innovation, Management and Technology. He holds a Master in Econometrics and a Master in Banking, Finance and Commodities.
