After training as a journalist and working in the media for 10 years I then moved into corporate communications and media relations with Hampshire Constabulary, eventually becoming the Head of Media and Corporate Communications after re-organisation and re-focussing of activities of a traditional press office.
After 10 years at Hampshire Constabulary, four years operating at senior management level, co-ordinating multi-agency responses to civil emergencies and much more, I left to set up a private Public Relations, Communications, Social Media and Marketing consultancy.
We have worked with a wide range of global, national and regional companies for the past 15 years, advising them on messaging, profile, reputation and business development.
I am currently the Chair of the Corporation of Fareham College, an Ofsted outstanding further education college in Hampshire. I have been on the board for seven years and chair for two years. I am also a trustee of The Rainbow Centre charity in Fareham in Hampshire, a charity that helps children and adults with neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy, stroke, Parkinson's disease and more. I have had previous board experience with Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, Portsmouth and SE Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and Relate (Portsmouth).
