I am a ward volunteer on mental day units and secured units in Coventry and Warwickshire. I love to be able to offer my time to support others, to be a shoulder for a patient to cry on and open up too or to be a distraction for a patients during their mental health struggles.
Giving my time and support is a relatively small thing for me to do but it has a massive impact on others on the wards I volunteer on when able. It improves a patients self-worth and confidence because another person wants to spend time with them and engage them. I love it!
